First capital of the Occident, Tournai has a rich and diverse history.
The famous Cathedral with its five bell towers brings together Roman and Gothic styles; together with its belfry (the most ancient one in Belgium) it has been declared part of the UNESCO world heritage.

St Aubert mount
Less than a mile away from our house, the St Aubert Mount dominates the Tournai plain. Numerous paths invite you to take a walk and to reach the summit (153 meters high). From there you will be able to discover the natural beauty of the area.
The Harchies marches
The Harchies-Hensies-Pommeroeul marches are the result of land changes due to the mines during the first half of the 20th century . The resulting land depressions quickly filled with water to become current lakes and ponds. The total site is some 1500 acres and is famous for its biological treasures .Over 300 different bird species have been observed there already.
We are able to provide two adult size bicycles . We will suggest various routes along the banks of the Escaut river and along the paths of the numerous canals
Which criss cross our area .
Formal routes in the Plaines de L’Escaut Natural Park or in the hillside will allow you yet more discoveries .
